In Maryland, the Governor’s Workforce Investment Board’s (GWIB) Construction Industry Initiative Steering Committee was convened to identify the critical workforce issues and barriers that hamper the creation and maintenance of a vibrant construction workforce, and to develope recommendations to resolve those issues. This final report summarizes the Steering Committee’s work, findings about the industry, and presents recommended solutions and strategies for implementation that address the most critical issues facing Maryland’s construction industry.
